From the AKI National Programme Team

The Acute Kidney Injury National Programme is a three-year collaboration between NHS England and UK Renal Registry and its aim is to work towards ensuring that avoidable harm related to AKI is prevented in all care settings.

The programme team is made up of a wide range of people from across health, care and patients but we want to widen that further by getting as many people as possible involved.

So, initially we’re organising a ‘webchat’, which is basically a forum for anyone to have their say about AKI. This might be your experiences of working with patients with AKI, your view of the programme and what it’s trying to achieve, your ideas for the best way to make change happen to raise awareness of AKI, or how you have made a difference in your organisation and how you now manage AKI. We’d like you to share your best practice and case studies, too.

You can find out more about the programme by visiting the website at http://www.england.nhs.uk/ourwork/patientsafety/akiprogramme/   and you can join the webchat which will run from 15 to 28 September here http://thinkkidneys.freeforums.net/

If you are unable to join the webchat, but you’d like to know more about the programme or get involved, you can do any or all of the following

•             Contact us by email at aki@renalregistry.nhs.uk

•             Sign up to receive email updates about the programme on the website or

•             Follow us on Twitter @ACTKidneyInjury

Let’s get the conversation going. We’d be very pleased to hear from you.  Can you please pass this onto your networks where appropriate so we get this message far and wide.  Apologies for any cross posting.

Thanks.

Kind regards

Karen
